PRNTSCRN

(Pronounced print screen , or your native language's translation)
A screenshot tool inspired by Minecraft's F2 key!
By RayDeeUx, ninXout, mat, Prevter, and hiimjasmine00.

Tired of that clunky three-key screenshot hotkey? Don't like the window shadows in macOS's windowed screenshots? Scrambling to hide items in DevTools to take the perfect screenshot? Disappointed by the low-resolution pictures from Steam's screenshotting options?

Let PRNTSCRN make the screenshotting process easier for you!

Features

  • Screenshot levels with options to hide your UI, your player*, the attempt label, Practice Mode checkpoints, and even other players* from Globed or Champions!
  • Automate level screenshots in percentage or seconds intervals!
  • Customizable dimensions for screenshots!**
  • An API for other mods to take screenshots through this mod!
  • Eclipse Menu integration!
  • Rebindable keybinds! (macOS, Windows, and Android only)
  • Save as JPG! (macOS/Windows only. All devices support PNG.)
  • Copy to clipboard! (macOS/Windows only. Might break in Wine.)

Special Thanks

  • mat for the original RenderTexture implementation (licensed under the MIT License) and mod idea; without it, none of this would've been possible.
  • ninXout for fleshing out this mod even further while he still could, and adding macOS support.
  • Prevter for help in writing the API for this mod, fixing Windows image clipboard copying, refactoring some code, and generously lending his C++ expertise and his ImagePlus API to make iOS/Android support possible.
  • hiimjasmine00 for fixing iOS support.
  • CatXus for beta-testing Android support.
  • Alphalaneous, hiimjasmine00, Firee, and slideglide for beta-testing iOS support.
  • Brift for designing the camera sprite (and by extension, the mod logo).

Memorial for those who gave up partway

Notes

  • *Not all parts of your player (or players from multiplayer mods) can be easily hidden, including player ghost trails, dash fire sprites, and spider teleport effects. To hide these effects more consistently during gameplay, see the featuresets in Eclipse Menu or KrazyPlayLayer.
  • **For best results (or if you just hate crashes in general), please use a conventional aspect ratio (16:9, 16:10, 4:3, etc.) for your game window sizes.

PRNTSCRN Changelog

v1.0.8

  • Port to Geode v5.0.0-beta.3 and GD 2.2081.
  • Temporarily remove Eclipse Menu integration.
  • Added a new option to hide Noclip Tints from most major mod menus during screenshot.
    • This is to compensate for a few node IDs this mod claimed to filter, only to never actually do anything to them.
    • These options might also prove useful in a number of niche scenarios not worth discussing here.
  • Added nodes from Difficulty Progression and MegaHack v9 to the "Hide UI" filter toggle.
    • These changes are not going away any time soon, and if anything, should've been added as early as v1.0.5.
  • Added the dummy trail from Editor Trail In-Game to the "Hide Player" filter toggle.
    • The editor trail added by this mod is tied to the player.
  • Automatically hide the grayscale shader from GrayscaleMode by default.
    • Originally, you had to hide the grayscale shader on your own if you were to take a screenshot inside a level.

v1.0.7

  • Fix some UI problems. Sorry about that!

v1.0.6

  • Added options to hide the editor grid, editor playtest path, and editor object hitboxes.
    • These options were inspired by Ausk.

v1.0.5

  • Minor bugfixes related to the API. Hopefully.

v1.0.4

  • Minor bugfixes related to the API. Hopefully.

v1.0.3

  • Consistently hide checkpoint objects.

v1.0.2

  • Consistently hide UI elements.

v1.0.1

  • Added detection for texture quality changes.

v1.0.0

  • Initial release (on GitHub).
